The Green Bay Packers suffered another devastating loss on Monday Night Football against the Las Vegas Raiders. 17-13 in favor of the Raiders ended up being the final score after Jordan Love threw his third interception of the game late in the fourth quarter.
It has been no secret that the Packers are one of the youngest teams in the NFL this season. That youth creates excitement for the future, however, it can also creating frustrating situations. The Packers have experienced those growing pains more than once this year, today head coach Matt LaFleur commented on that and the youth of the team.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Comments On The Youth Of The Team
Per USA Today’s Brian Wood:
Matt LaFleur on #Packers youth:
“I never want to fall back on that. Because I think that’s such an excuse. It is what it is. We’re going to play with the guys we have, and I believe in the guys we have. We do have a lot of talent. I think we all knew there would be growing pains”
From the sounds of it, LaFleur and the Packers aren’t looking to add veterans to this young team. They have been committed to this young core learning together for years to come.
Through five weeks the Packers sit at 2-3 and in second place in the NFC North. The Detroit Lions (4-1) are in first and the Minnesota Vikings (1-4) and Chicago Bears (1-4) share the bottom spot.
While the Packers aren’t considered a Super Bowl contender, fans would like to see enough out of Love this year to feel comfortable committing to him long-term. Love had by far the worst game of his career on Monday Night. The Packers will look to rebound in two weeks against the Denver Broncos, the Packers have a bye next week.
