The Green Bay Packers have done it again. The NFL has seen back-to-back great quarterbacks on the same team before, so it was not all too shocking when Aaron Rodgers played so well after taking over for Brett Favre. Steve Young following Joe Montana on the San Francisco 49ers, Andrew Luck following Peyton Manning on the Indianapolis Colts, and Drew Bledsoe to Tom Brady are familiar examples of this.
But what every team has struggled to do is make it three-consecutive franchise quarterbacks. The 49ers turned to Jeff Garcia after Young, the Colts to Jacoby Brissett and a slew of projects, and the Patriots turned to Mac Jones, who will be backing up Trevor Lawrence on the Jacksonville Jaguars this year.
The Packers, though, turned to Jordan Love, who put up the best first season as the starting quarterback in franchise history. Now, as he enters his second season as the Packers’ starter, there are many who believe he could enter the NFL MVP conversation this year.
NFL Analyst Believes Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Will Get MVP Consideration This Year

Of course, there are a couple of things that Love needs to do in order to truly be considered in the same camp as Favre and Rodgers. The first, and most important, is to win a Super Bowl (or two or three). The second is to bring home a NFL MVP Award. Favre won it three times and Rodgers won it four times.
Maruice Moton of Bleacher Report wrote an article recently ranking the top 10 players who could win their first MVP Award this season. He ranked Love eighth ahead of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
Moton wrote of Love:
“In 2023, Green Bay’s aerial attack finished third in touchdowns and 12th in yards with four rookies, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft all heavily involved in the passing game. By the way, lead wideout Christian Watson missed eight games because of hamstring injuries.
“This year, Love has a full season of starting experience under his belt and an established rapport with a handful of playmakers who may also see growth early in their careers.
“If the Packers win the NFC North title, Love will probably get MVP votes as the centerpiece of an ascending offense.”
The players Moton has ahead of Love are CJ Stroud, Joe Burrow, Brock Purdy, Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, Jared Goff, and Christian McCaffrey.
What Does Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Need to Do to Win NFL MVP in 2024?

In short, Love needs to play like he did in the final 10 games last season. That 10-game run erased any concerns the franchise might have had about Love’s staying power as the franchise quarterback. During that run, which began in Week Eight, he completed 68.3% of his passes for 2,667 yards, 21 touchdowns, and three interceptions.
He also had a quarterback rating of 108.2 during that span, and the Packers went 7-3 in those games.
Presumably, Love and his young core of pass catchers will be even better in 2024 now that they have a full season of NFL play under their belts.
If Love lives up to those standards, it could be a very special year in Green Bay.
