The Green Bay Packers have addressed the roster this offseason through NFL free agency. It was a surprise to some fans when they were able to sign Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney off the free-agent market. Green Bay is not known for signing free agents usually, but maybe it will change in the future.
There are still key free agents out on the open market that the Green Bay Packers could still sign before the start of the season. At one point, they were encouraged to sign quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but it would not make sense for them to add to the roster.

They can still use some roster upgrades on the defensive side of the football. Some rookies will be asked to start right away this season.
Bleacher Report Suggests That Linebacker Kwon Alexander Could Help the Green Bay Packers

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox thinks linebacker Kwon Alexander could help the Green Bay Packers move forward. Alexander was a former fourth-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kwon Alexander last season played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He recorded 41 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one interception, and one pass deflection. Knox said about why the Packers should sign him to the roster:
“Kwon Alexander was a late addition to the Pittsburgh Steelers defense in 2023. He proved to be a capable rotational player through nine games before suffering a torn Achilles.
Alexander finished the 2023 season with 41 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack and an interception. He allowed an opposing passer rating of only 76.3 in coverage.
Injuries have been an issue for Alexander throughout his NFL career. He played all 17 games in 2022, but he’s missed at least four games in every other since since 2017. However, he’s a seasoned vet who can provide leadership and be an effective second-level coverage option.
Due to his injury history and age—he’ll turn 30 in August—Alexander should be available at a team-friendly price.
A return to Pittsburgh is unlikely, as the Steelers signed Patrick Queen and drafted Payton Wilson to bolster their linebacker corps. However, the rival Baltimore Ravens could potentially use Alexander to help replace Queen.
The Green Bay Packers could also use Alexander’s services after parting with linebacker De’Vondre Campbell early in the offseason. In Green Bay, Alexander could help mentor rookie second-round pick Edgerrin Cooper.”
The Green Bay Packers are very high on second-round pick Edgerrin Cooper. He is projected to be one of the starting linebackers along with Quay Walker and Isaiah McDuffie on this football team. Alexander would be a nice addition to this defense because they don’t have enough depth at the linebacker position.
