Even though Kenneth Odumegwu hasn’t played that much for the Green Bay Packers last season, the potential he holds for the franchise looks promising. And after his bold promise, there will be a lot to expect from the Nigerian native.
At the end of his first campaign with the Packers, the franchise signed Odumegwu to a futures contract. This comes after the linebacker impressed people during his time in Green Bay, specifically Rashan Gary.
In turn, Gary would go on to describe Odumegwu’s journey as an incredible one. Hailing from the Anambra state in Nigeria, the 6’6″ linebacker earned the distinction of being on the Packers’ practice squad after several tryouts and combines.
Along with Gary, Preston Smith is also one of the team’s veterans who saw Odumegwu’s potential during the past season. He said that the young linebacker possesses an insatiable hunger for knowledge on the game.
With the promise he has for Green Bay, it’s hard not to get excited about Odumegwu’s future in the NFL. Paired with the testimonies of his teammates, it’s only a matter of time before he bursts onto the scene.

For his part, Odumegwu has nothing but gratefulness for the chance to play football with the Packers in the years to come. The Nigerian linebacker shares his thoughts in an article written by Wes Hodkiewicz for the Packers’ official website:
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity, for real. I say that every day,” Odumegwu said. “To have these big names wrap their arms around you, it’s a motivating feeling. I want to have that for long, so I have to keep working. I want to show them the investment they made in me is paying off.”
It’s exciting to see what the future holds for Odumegwu in his career with the Packers. What’s certain is more eyes will certainly be on him, especially when the next season starts.
