Green Bay Packers are meeting with an intriguing RB
The Green Bay Packers have an important draft coming up in April. Due to their tight cap space, the Packers have not been able to land many top free agents this offseason. The team is working on a budget to acquire talent for the defense and build around first-year starting quarterback Jordan Love. They plan to carve out some precious cap space for a veteran wide receiver. The Packers are planning to meet with another potential addition to the offense in the draft.

According to Stephen Igoe with Hoist The Colours, the Packers are meeting with ECU running back Keaton Mitchell. Per the report, Mitchell is considered a third-to-fifth-round prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft. Keaton impressed teams with his punt return skills in addition to being a running back.
ECU RB Keaton Mitchell says he's heard anywhere from 3rd-5th round.
Mitchell says he will visit the Falcons on the 14th of April. Also has visits planned with the Jets, Lions, and Packers.
Said he used today to show off his skills as a punt returner.

Mitchell’s profile looks impressive
Pro Football Focus named Mitchell an honorable mention All-American for his performance in the 2022 season. He earned first-team All-AAC honors for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The sophomore running back ran for 2,492 yards and 23 touchdowns in his two seasons playing at ECU. Mitchell also added to the passing game, catching 42 balls for 419 yards and one touchdown pass. He averaged 26.6 yards per kick return attempt in 2022.
According to Daniel Flick with Sports Illustrated, Mitchell was an elite athlete in high school in Georgia.
“Across his final two seasons, Mitchell ran for 4,347 yards and 88 touchdowns, including a 49-score junior season that ranks second all-time in Georgia.
The 5-8, 179-pound Mitchell earned Class A Private Offensive Player of the Year and Class A Region 5 Player of the Year honors by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution while racking up over 5,000 all-purpose yards.”
Mitchell’s fit with the Green Bay Packers
Mitchell could be another weapon for the Packers in the passing game. He has the skills to be a solid kick or punt return for the Packers. The Packers could find good value in taking Mitchell as a third-day draft option.
