The Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading into a significant Week 15 matchup. Both teams are very alive for an NFC playoff spot. The Packers currently hold the seventh seed in the NFC and can control their own destiny to the post season.
The Buccaneers are in a three-way tie with the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints for first place in the NFC South. Every week is a “must win” for both franchises. That being said, Jordan Love made an emphatic statement this week.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Makes Promise Prior To Their Matchup With The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
As the Packers dropped to 6-7, the Giants loss had a huge impact on their playoff hopes. Although the Packers still occupy the No. 7 seed in the playoffs, they are now tied with five other NFC teams with 6-7 records. It is imperative that they do not lose any more games, or they could easily be eliminated from the playoffs.
According to quarterback Jordan Love, his team will get back to their winning ways after Monday Night’s loss:
“Obviously we’re a team that’s been in this situation,” Love said, via the Packers’ website. “We’ve lost some tough games and been able to bounce back. We’ll be able to bounce back next week.”
The Packers started the season 2-1 before falling to 3-6. The team then rattled off three straight wins to get back to .500 and squarely in playoff conversations.
Their Monday Night football game against the Giants was deemed to be a game the Packers should’ve won. As we all saw, nothing is guaranteed in the NFL. It will be interesting to see if Jordan Love and this Packers team can bounce back against a team who is also trying to save their season.
