Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers have put together a much better season than many were expecting. After Aaron Rodgers left town, no one thought that the team would be close to the playoffs at the end of the year. Clearly, those low expectations have been exceeded and the Packers are facing a win-and-in situation in Week 18 against the Chicago Bears.
What a breath of fresh air the 2023 NFL season has been for Green Bay fans. No more drama surrounding Rodgers and his future. Love has made it clear that he’s in town to stay as well.
Brian Gutekunst and the front office has to be feeling good about their future.
Not only has Love had a solid first season as the team’s starter, but he actually is forcing the national media to take notice. In fact, he has a case to win the NFL MVP award, although it’s very unlikely.
Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love Has A Compelling MVP Case
One fan took to Twitter to share Love’s case to win the NFL MVP award. At the very least, the Green Bay Packers’ first-year starter should be very seriously considered and a top five or six candidate.
Tell me why Jordan Love is not in the discussion for MVP?
Give me a REAL reason why he’s not in at least the top 3, top5? #Packers pic.twitter.com/TDAmhlsiq6

Looking at the stats, Love is right there with those at the top in contention. Lamar Jackson, who is the overwhelming favorite to win the award, has worse passing numbers across the board, outside of interceptions and QBR than Love. His rushing numbers do put him ahead of Love.
However, simply the fact that Love has made himself a legitimate candidate is amazing. After a rough start to the season, Love has turned things around and is playing at an elite level.
Over the last seven games, Love has thrown for 16 touchdowns and just one interception. Those numbers give the Green Bay Packers belief that he could be the next great superstar behind Brett Favre and Rodgers.
All of that being said, Love is heading into his most important game of his young NFL career. Beating the Bears would earn the Packers a playoff berth. The stakes have never been higher and Green Bay needs a big game from their young quarterback.
