Jordan Love came up big for the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. Not only did he throw his first 300-yard game in his NFL career, but the 25-year-old was also responsible for the Packers’ game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Chargers.

With the Packers down 20-16 with just two and a half minutes remaining in the final quarter, Love delivered a delightful pass to Romeo Doubs, who caught the lofted ball in the end zone. It was the perfect way for Love to cap off an amazing display for the Packers:

After the game, Love admitted that his past performances weighed heavily on his mind as he led Green Bay’s game-winning drive. The former Utah State standout has had more than a few forgettable moments throughout his tenure as the team’s new QB1, and he wanted to make sure that it was going to be different on Sunday night:
“I think for me personally, that’s always in the back of my head, just the past experiences that we’ve had, being in this situation and not capitalizing,” Love said, via Jason Wilde of The Journal Times. “Our message was just, ‘Go finish. Go compete. And go be great.’ I think we did that.
“We needed a touchdown, and there’s 5 minutes left in the game. Who knows if we’ll get the ball back? We’ve got to take advantage of this opportunity that we have. I think that’s the biggest thing, just when you’re presented that opportunity, go make the most of it.”

Love made no mistakes on that game-deciding play as he threw a perfect pass to Doubs for the win. The Chargers still got the ball back to try and win the game, but thankfully, Green Bay’s defense pulled through. The Packers escaped with a hard-fought 23-20 victory.
