There’s just something different with Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love whenever he’s playing during a holiday. The numbers back it up.
On New Year’s Eve, the Packers played the Minnesota Vikings and Love absolutely dominated. The Minnesota franchise just had no answer for the 25-year-old quarterback, as he tallied 256 yards and three touchdowns on 24-of-33 pass completion.
Even better, Love also rushed for one touchdown en route to the Packers’ 33-10 trashing of the Vikings.
With the said performance, Love remains undefeated in holiday games in his first year as a full-time starter. As Jacob Morley of 247 Sports noted, Love is 3-0 after winning their Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve games.
In those games, the former Utah State standout has tallied 749 passing yards and 10 touchdowns.
It’s certainly incredible to see Jordan Love grow as a player after taking over from Aaron Rodgers. When it looked like the season would be a disappointment after the team started with a 2-5 record, the Packers have since turned things around, with Love at the center of that major climb.
The Packers are now 8-8 heading to the final game of the season. They will face the Chicago Bears in Week 18, and the path to the playoffs is simple enough for them: win and they are in.
Sure enough, the Green Bay Packers will rely on Jordan Love to lead them to the postseason.
Jordan Love’s Superstar Rise with the Green Bay Packers
While their final game of the season won’t be a holiday, Green Bay Packers fans have nothing to worry about Jordan Love. After all, the quarterback has been a consistent threat so far in the second half of the season, not only during holiday games.
In fact, after their 2-5 start through Week 8 of NFL football (including their bye in Week 6), the Packers have gone 6-3 with Love leading the way.
Love has been really efficient during that stretch as well, throwing 2351 passing yards and 19 touchdowns–all while accumulating just three interceptions.
Moreover, Love and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy are the only players this 2023 to have at least eight games with multiple touchdown passes with no interception.
With that kind of efficiency, the Packers faithful can trust Love to lead the team. Sure enough, facing a motivated Chicago Bears team will be challenging. But the fan base has every reason to stay optimistic and believe that the team can get the job done this time compared to last year.
