Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love Receives Message From Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love speaks to media on May 10, 2023, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.

A new era has officially begun for the Green Bay Packers. For the first time in 30 years, someone not by the name of Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers will be the Packers’ week one starter. Jordan Love sat behind Rodgers for three seasons just as Rodgers did for Favre. Rodgers has always been supportive of Jordan Love, and Love shared that Rodgers reached out to him ahead of his first training camp as the starting quarterback.

“Aaron reached out to me last night and he said, ‘Just be yourself, have fun, enjoy it.’ It’s obviously my time now and he just said, ‘Be yourself.’ That’s all you can do. That’s kind of been the message from everybody. Be yourself, don’t try to be anybody else, don’t try to be Aaron.”

Jordan Love has had the opportunity to learn behind Aaron Rodgers for three seasons. In two of those seasons, Rodgers would win his third and fourth MVP awards. Now it is Jordan Love’s turn to display what he has and what he has learned. Rodgers made sure to remind Jordan Love to just stay true to himself.

What’s Next For The Green Bay Packers

Green Bay will continue with training camp for now as they look forward to the preseason. The Green Bay Packers will once again have joint practices in 2023. Jordan Love has had all offseason to prepare as the starter and will have every opportunity to showcase his skills. The only question will be how much preseason work the starting quarterback will see.

In the past, Matt LaFleur has been cautious with Aaron Rodgers, but Rodgers didn’t need much preseason work. Jordan Love has had limited work in the regular season so fans may get to see their starting quarterback in action in the preseason this year.
