The Green Bay Packers enter Week 18 NFL action with a massive opportunity. If they are able to take care of business at Lambeau Field against the arch-rival Chicago Bears, they will get into the playoffs.
It’s a situation that the Packers had last season in Week 18 against the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, they were unable to pick up win and were eliminated from playoff contention. Green Bay has a chance to get redemption from last year’s disappointment.
Unfortunately for the Packers, they are dealing with some serious injury issues. At wide receiver, they suffered another disappointing bit of news when Jayden Reed went out with a chest injury and missed the entire second half of Week 17’s matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
Looking ahead to Week 18, no one knows what his status will end up being. Reed took to Twitter to share an update on himself.

Hopefully, the injury update is actually how Reed is doing. There are major concerns about his ribs and ability to make a recovery before next week’s action.
While the Green Bay Packers have had a lot of success against the Bears in recent history, Chicago has made a big step from their first meeting this season. Justin Fields and company were able to blow out the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. The opportunity to eliminate the Packers from the playoffs is one that the Bears are relishing.
In order to win and find their way into the playoffs with a win this week, the Packers will need to put together a strong game on both sides of the ball. Reed has arguably been the team’s best wide receiver this year.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see how Reed progresses this week. The Green Bay Packers have an amazing opportunity this week and hopefully they take advantage of it.
