The Green Bay Packers started voluntary workouts this week. It is officially the start of the Packers’ quest for championship number 14. This off-season has been noteworthy, to say the least. The Packers have moved on from a few corner stone players while bringing in a few younger ones.
When two cornerstone players showed up for the very first day of voluntary workouts, it went viral on social media.
Two Big Names Show Up For The Green Bay Packers’ First Day Of Voluntary Workouts That Has Fans Go Crazy
On Monday, Jaire Alexander attended the first day of the Green Bay Packers’ offseason program after skipping most of last year’s workouts and missing out on a $700,000 bonus. He was joined with newly acquired Safety Xavier McKinney.
Jeff Hafley is implementing a new defensive scheme for the Packers. Among the key players in the line-up will be Alexander, a Pro Bowler in 2020 and 2022.
There are three years left on Alexander’s $84 million contract. There are $700,000 workout bonuses available in each of the three years. His contract runs through 2026. Xavier McKinney just signed a whopping four-year $68M contract that made him the third highest paid Safety in the NFL.
