The Green Bay Packers have personnel in-house who have connections to numerous athletes coming out in the 2024 NFL Draft. Something that could prove to be useful when it comes to getting the inside scoop on players they may be interested in. That is no different for one running back who has been getting a ton of advice from Packers’ ILB Quay Walker.
Green Bay Packers’ ILB Quay Walker Has Been Getting One Running Back Ready For The Next Level Ahead Of The 2024 NFL Draft
It is possible for general managers to find gems at the running back position in later rounds. There is one player from Georgia who has day three projection: Kendall Milton. As a Bulldog last season, Milton scored 14 touchdowns and averaged 6.5 yards per carry. His big body at 5’11 225 pounds allows him to play behind his pads, move players, and is difficult to take down.
Packers ILB Quay Walker has been instrumental in his preparation for the NFL:

Will The Packers Add A Running Back In This Years’ Draft?
It is widely believed the Packers will add to their running back room this off-season. Currently Josh Jacobs and AJ Dillon will likely split carries in 2024, however, Dillon is back in Green Bay on a one-year contract. The team will likely want to add a long-term running back to split carries with Jacobs.
I wouldn’t anticipate the Packers taking a running back in the early rounds, but a mid-to-late round draft pick on a running back would make a ton of sense. Could Milton be that guy?
Even though Milton lacks long speed, he can instantly be effective in the red zone. As a runner, he has excellent vision in the red zone and a knack for punching it in. His draft profile looks like this:
Milton is a classic workhorse runner who landed on a loaded team that rarely asked him to handle a workhorse load. He’s big and physical and does his job as a downhill back. He doesn’t have a second gear to outrun speedy linebackers and creates his yardage with force over finesse.
Milton offers a fall-forward running style that will benefit a team looking for a backup who can win on short-yardage carries. He’s done very little receiving out of the backfield, so he will need to prove himself in that area. At worst, Milton should offer good Day 3 value as a professional runner with size, vision and toughness.
