The Green Bay Packers will play in their first post-season game since the 2021 season on Sunday. Their task? To take down the number two overall seed in the Dallas Cowboys. Green Bay will be on the road at AT&T Stadium in their home uniforms this weekend.
Injuries are apart of the game, especially later in the season. That is no difference for the Packers as they head into Wild Card Weekend.
Green Bay Packers Star Gets Grim Update Ahead Of Dallas Cowboys Showdown
Green Bay Packers All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander rolled his ankle during Wednesday’s walkthrough and suffered a “freaky” injury. Depending on Alexander’s availability for Sunday, Joe Barry may have to alter his game plan midweek. The possibility of Barry having to alter his game plan increased today. According to Ryan Wood of USA Today:
Joe Barry hoped Jaire Alexander’s ankle would feel good enough to practice today. It didn’t. Alexander not participating. #Packers will need two defensive game plans: one for if he plays, one for it he doesn’t.
AJ Dillon only other player not practicing today.
Today marked the second day in a row that Alexander wasn’t able to practice. A grim sign for his availability on Sunday. The Cowboys have one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in Ceedee Lamb. Having Jaire Alexander to follow him would be key in trying to get the defense off the field.
In the event that Alexander is unable to play, the Packers will start Corey Ballentine to play alongside Carrington Valentine. Valentine and Ballentine have played together quite a bit this season due to Alexander’s previous injuries, as well as Stokes’ absence.
