The Green Bay Packers are preparing for their clash against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Sitting at 2-5, the Packers are in desperate need of a win. Green Bay started the year 2-1 and were feeling good about the potential of this young team. Four straight losses in a row have turned that excitement into worry for many fans.
In an attempt to right the ship, the Packers made a precautionary change on the defensive side of the ball prior to their matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

The roster spot on the Green Bay Packers squad was not filled after cornerback Rasul Douglas was traded on Tuesday. As a result, Innis Gaines was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Due to Safety Rudy Ford being listed as questionable with a calf injury, the Packers decided to elevate Gaines. While Gaines is listed as a Safety, he spent nearly all of training camp and the preseason playing the slot behind Keisean Nixon.
For the opening two games against Chicago and Atlanta, Gaines was also promoted from the practice squad. On special teams, he made two tackles (35 snaps) and on defense, he made one tackle (five snaps).This is his third elevation.
