The Green Bay Packers offensive line has been a massive struggle this season, and one of the players that line will be facing this weekend is Aaron Donald on the Los Angeles Rams. Despite Los Angeles getting blown out 43-20 on Sunday on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, Donald recorded two sacks and disrupted the Cowboys offensive line all game long.
Dallas’s offensive line is miles better than the Packers’ offensive line. Green Bay can’t operate well offensively because of how bad the line play has been. All that needs to be said is good luck blocking Aaron Donald on Sunday. The Packers and head coach Matt LaFleur will probably game plan to double-team him, but it may not even matter.
Donald is always looking to disrupt the game in any way he possibly can. He has recorded 4.5 sacks. With just one sack on Sunday against the Packers, he will surpass last season’s total of five sacks set in 11 games played for the Rams.
In the previous five seasons before that, he recorded double-digit sacks and won a couple of Defensive Player of the Year awards on the way. Aaron Donald also has 33 total tackles this season. He is 32 years old and is still one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
If, By Some Miracle, the Green Bay Packers Can Block Aaron Donald, They May Have a Chance
There may be some changes to the Packers’ offensive line this weekend when they face the Rams. It may not matter who is being trotted out there; they must execute the game plan well. One of the game plans will be slowing down Donald, so he can’t disrupt the game.
Green Bay’s offense has struggled to get off to fast starts this season, and this Sunday could be no different for them. The Green Bay Packers need to be aware of where number 99 is on the field at all times. The Los Angeles Rams want to get out of their losing streak, just like the Packers.
Quarterback Jordan Love has been prone to turnovers. Love can make bad decisions with the football if Aaron Donald is left unblocked. He also can very well have no time to throw in the pocket. The short passing game will be really important this weekend for Green Bay to take that pressure away from Donald, but it is easier said than done.
