The Green Bay Packers are certainly going through adversity at the moment. After three straight wins, the team has dropped two in a row (to teams many thought they should beat). Those losses currently have the Packers on the outside looking in when it comes to the 2023 NFC playoff picture.
Following the Packers’ brutal 34-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a star player from the Packers’ defense took to social media to share some personal thoughts.
Green Bay Packers All-Pro Linebacker Makes Emphatic Statement On Twitter (X) About His Intentions With The Team

Robin Adams of Wisconsin Sports Heroics highlighted the situation that is ongoing with inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell:
In his press conference yesterday, LaFleur stated that Barry would remain the Packers’ defensive coordinator for the remainder of the season. He also said that he would be stepping in to be more involved and fixing “communication issues” between Barry and the players.
In other words, LaFleur (and Barry, by extension) blamed the players. The following is from the Packers’ own website:
LaFleur indicated the communication issues were shared by the coaches and players.
“When you’re having basic communication problems and you’re supposed to be in a certain coverage or a certain rotation and we’re not getting that communication … it always starts with us,” he said. “It starts with myself and it goes to all our assistant coaches. So obviously the coaching wasn’t up to the standard and our performance on the field definitely showed that as well.”
He also said the players on the field simply weren’t talking with one another in and out of the huddle, which is normal procedure to get everyone on the same page.
While acknowledging coaching issues, he is still saddling the players with blame, or throwing them under the bus, if you will.
And De’Vondre Campbell is done being thrown under the bus.
On Tuesday morning, All-Pro linebacker De’Vondre Campbell posted the following on social media:

The situation with Green Bay and their defense seems to be deteriorating as we speak. It will be interesting to see when/if the organization decides to make a coaching change on that side of the ball.

Coaches call defense and alignments.
Players go into the wrong alignments and don’t correct players next to them.
Somehow this is the coaches fault.
People are absurd these days. This defense has played really well at times and is markedly improved over recent years, and was 11th in scoring until the last game.
They looked good in the previous 5 games.
