The Green Bay Packers lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home 34-20 on Sunday afternoon and Green Bay has lost two consecutive games. The Packers drop to 6-8 on the year and out of a playoff spot at the moment. A lot of fans on Sunday were blaming the loss not on quarterback Jordan Love, but on one person: defensive coordinator Joe Barry.
The defense was horrendous for the second consecutive game despite recording five sacks in the contest. They gave up a perfect passer rating to quarterback Baker Mayfield, who has been up and down all season long for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He completed 22-of-28 passes for 381 yards and four touchdowns in the contest. His passer rating was 158.3. This upset the Packers fanbase a lot.
Green Bay Packers Fans Want Joe Barry Fired After the Loss Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
There is one common dominator for most of the Packers problems this season and that is defensive coordinator Joe Barry. Head coach Matt LaFleur was asked by the media after the game if he would make an in-season change at defensive coordinator and he felt like it was not the time to do it.
Green Bay didn’t do well against Tommy DeVito and the New York Giants. They gave up 24 points to them. The New Orleans Saints only gave up six points on Sunday against the New York Giants and this is why Packers fans want to see Barry gone.
This is what Green Bay fans tweeted after the game on the Packers Twitter page:

I am absolutely convinced that Joe Barry will make Bryce Young throw for 500 yards 5TD’s next week.
Why we continue to put faith in this dude week in week out is so fucking questionable.

Please fire Joe Barry tomorrow

The truth of the matter is that there are several more of these tweets on the Packers’ Twitter page. The blame was on the defensive coordinator and it seemed like no one else deserved the blame for the loss. Green Bay’s defense has cost them several times this season and not necessarily Jordan Love.
A lot of other Green Bay Packers fans mentioned the fact that this is what Aaron Rodgers has dealt with several times when he was the quarterback of this franchise. Hopefully, at the end of the season head coach Matt LaFleur does not bring back Joe Barry and they can learn from their past mistakes.
