The 2024 NFL draft is just around the corner, and teams have already started scouting and building their draft boards. The Green Bay Packers have 11 picks in this year’s draft and are looking to add more young talent to their team. Primarily, the Packers will focus on defense in the draft as they will look into the safety and linebacker positions. They have already met with an All-American linebacker before the draft.
The Green Bay Packers Have Met With Edgerrin Cooper

The Green Bay Packers had a meeting with Edgerrin Cooper, an All-American linebacker, before the NFL Combine and the Draft. Cooper had a four-year tenure at Texas A&M and declared for the draft in December. Cooper, a 4-star recruit according to ESPN and 247 Sports, joined Texas A&M after being heavily recruited from Covington High School.

Edgerrin Cooper Draft Projections and Stats

During his senior year in 2023, Cooper played in 12 games for the Aggies and recorded a total of 609 snaps. He had 58 tackles, 17 assists, and 56 stops, which was a decent performance. As a pass rusher, Cooper made 27 total pressures, which included 12 QB hurries, 5 QB hits, and 10 sacks. Overall, Cooper had an impressive performance in his senior year.

At the Shrine Bowl, all 32 teams had a chance to meet with Cooper. Currently, he is expected to be drafted in the 2nd to 4th round, but his draft position could change depending on his performance in events like the NFL Combine and any Pro Days he decides to participate in.
The Packers will focus heavily on the defense side of the ball and will meet with most defensive players who fit the mold of their team.
