Projected First Round Draft Pick Says “It Would Be A Dream To Play For The Green Bay Packers”

The Green Bay Packers have a few major needs going into the 2023 NFL Draft.  Tight end, safety, and possibly wide receiver are atop many mock draft lists for the Packers.  A sneaky need that many are also saying the Packers could target in this year’s draft is left tackle.  Thinking about life after David Bakhtiari at left tackle will need to be addressed sooner rather than later.  As it turns out, one of the top left tackles in the 2023 NFL Draft would absolutely love to play for the Green Bay Packers.

Northwestern OT Peter Skoronski Would Love To Play For The Green Bay Packers

    Per Inside NU:

Skoronski on potentially going to the Packers: “I grew up a Packers fan. that would be an enormous deal to me and my family and kind of a dream come true, in a sense. Happy to go anywhere else, but there is this place in my heart for the Packers for sure.”
There is a unique connection between the Skoronski family and the Green Bay Packers. Bob Skoronski (Grandfather of Peter Skoronski) played left tackle during Vince Lombardi’s dynasty in Green Bay.  He help the Packers win titles in 1961, 1962 and 1965.  He was also on the team when the Packers won Super Bowls I (1966) and II (1967).  Bob was a Pro Bowler in 1966.  Skoronski said his grandfather is his football mentor/idol and wants to continue his legacy as a championship-winning player in the NFL.
    Per NFL Draft Buzz:

Skoronski is a great all-around offensive lineman with the potential to become a very good starter in the NFL. He has an impressive three years of college experience, having started for Northwestern since his freshman year.

He’s an experienced, technician, whose feet balance and hand usage are all already elite, giving him an edge over other players in this draft class. He has the perfect combination of athleticism and skill and has demonstrated he’s the pass blocker in the draft class. He, however, doesn’t have the ideal size for a pro left tackle and his limited arm length may put pro teams off and see him as more of a guard prospect.

Skoronski is still the most NFL-ready offensive lineman in this draft class, and for that reason he’ll likely be the first offensive lineman selected in the 2023 NFL Draft

If the Green Bay Packers are looking for an offensive lineman early in the draft, Peter Skoronski may have some extra motivation when he puts on that Green and Gold uniform.
