The Green Bay Packers will be doing their homework for the rest of the season at the tight end position. That is especially true after it was reported that starting tight end Luke Musgrave could potentially miss the rest of the season.
The team is certainly excited about the potential of rookie tight end Tucker Kraft, however, the idea of bringing in a former starting tight end might be too good to pass up.
The Green Bay Packers Work Out Former Third Round Draft Pick Devin Asiasi Ahead Of Kansas City Chiefs Matchup
NFL reporter Aaron Wilson announced the Green Bay Packers worked out tight end Devin Asiasi.
Cleveland drafted Asiasi in the third round of the 2020 draft. Additionally, he spent time with the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals. In his career, Asiasi has played 424 snaps on offense, 200 of which came last season. For what it’s worth, he’s graded okay as a blocker by PFF’s metrics and has four career receptions on 11 targets for 44 yards and one touchdown.
The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Asiai is in his fourth season after attending UCLA. In the past two seasons, Asiai has appeared in 22 games, making three starts for the Patriots (2020-2021) and Bengals (2022-23).
It will be interesting to see if the Packers add some experienced depth at the position after Musgrave’s injury.
