Colin Cowherd loves to talk about the Green Bay Packers. He has been critical of Jordan Love throughout the offseason and for the first part of the regular season. The play of the offense has given Cowherd plenty of fodder to go after. In today’s show, Cowherd blasted Love and his defenders.

Colin Cowherd Blasts Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love
Cowherd didn’t hold back on his show slamming Love’s defenders.
“The only people defending him are adult men who wear Cheeseheads. It’s obstructing your view, get another hat. Look how Matt LaFleur calls a game. He doesn’t trust him to throw down the field.”
The FS1 talking head was critical of the game plan that the Packers had on Sunday. Especially in the first half, LaFleur called a lot of pass plays that got the ball out quickly and behind the line of scrimmage. This often shows a mistrust in the quarterback to make the big throws. While there is plenty of criticism to go around on the team, this specific criticism simply isn’t rooted in fact.

Love Has Been Pushing The Ball Down The Field
Let’s take week 1 for example. In week 1, Love had a 10.6-yard average depth of target which was the sixth highest in Week 1. Throughout the first part of the season, Love has taken many deep shots. Yesterday was the first time that Love had more short throws which may have been to try and get him more completions. There is plenty that Love has to work on. His downfield accuracy and late-game decision-making might be in question but LaFleur seems to be okay with him pushing the ball downfield, especially in the second half.

Even if the criticism is valid, it is hard to take anything that Cowherd says about the Packers seriously. He’s been bashing this team for years and no matter what the team does, it will likely continue.
