The Green Bay Packers await the Chicago Bears arrival this Sunday for the regular season finale. While the Bears are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, the Packers will clinch a spot in the postseason with a win.
Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears Spread Set at 3.0, Over/Under 45.5 Total Points
The last time these two teams matched up was Week 1 of the regular season, where Green Bay took the victory on the road with a score of 38-20. This is the highest number of points the Packers have put up in a single game all season.
While Green Bay torched the Bears defense in Week 1, this is a much-improved defensive unit for Chicago coming into Sunday’s contest. With the addition of Montez Sweat via trade from the Washington Commanders at the deadline, Chicago has recorded multiple sacks every game since the acquisition.
In the last matchup, there were a total of 58 points scored and both teams are averaging at least 32 points in their last two games. The weather forecast for Sunday is reported to be partly cloudy with a zero percent chance of precipitation, which helps both offenses. Even with Chicago’s improvements on the defensive end, there is value in the total points going over for Sunday’s regular season finale.
Aaron Jones Over 88.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-120 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
Aaron Jones has been running the ball with confidence these past two games, rushing for over 240 yards on the ground. While Jones hasn’t found the endzone since Week 9, his production since coming back from a sprained MCL has shown why he is so important to this offense.
Jones went over the 88.5 line in the last matchup versus Chicago and the Bears have allowed over 160 yards from scrimmage to running backs in their last 2 games. In the biggest game of the season, Jones will have to step up and expect a big workload due to AJ Dillon being ruled out for Sunday’s game with a neck injury. Jones to go over 88.5 yards from scrimmage is my best bet of the contest.
Justin Fields Over 199.5 Passing Yards (-120 on Draft Kings Sportsbook)
Justin Fields played one of his best games this season in the pocket against the Atlanta Falcons last week, throwing for 268 yards and a touchdown while dropping 37 points as an offense. Fields went over the 199.5 line in the last matchup versus Green Bay and has gone over this line in 3 of the last 5 games.
“We Want Fields” 🗣️
Bears fans made it clear that they want to stick with QB Justin Fields. Chicago holds the No. 1 pick of the 2024 draft 👀
— NFL Retweet (@NFLRT) January 1, 2024
Chicago has the number 1 pick in the 2024 draft locked up due to the blockbuster trade made with the Carolina Panthers last off-season. Fields is currently playing for his life as a Bear and will need to continue trending up this Sunday if he wants to convince the front office to keep him over drafting a new quarterback.
Preston Smith Over 0.25 Sacks Recorded (-105 on Draft Kings Sportsbook)
Preston Smith, who is listed as questionable after logging a limited practice on Friday will need 2 more sacks to earn one million dollars in incentives based on his contract. Justin Fields has taken 39 sacks, which is the 6th most by a quarterback this season. Assuming he will be extra motivated to get after the quarterback, Smith to record over 0.25 sacks holds value in Sunday’s contest if he suits up.
Coverage for Sunday’s regular season finale will begin at 4:25 PM Eastern time on CBS.
