The Green Bay Packers rival, the Chicago Bears made a massive move in their offense on Thursday night. Chicago traded for wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers for a fourth-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Bears are looking to do everything this offseason to get better. Chicago has not beaten Green Bay in ten straight games. The Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Detroit Lions all finished ahead of the Chicago Bears for the second straight season in the NFC North.
Chicago also owns the number one selection in the 2024 NFL Draft and the ninth pick. They are hanging onto quarterback Justin Fields for now despite the possibility of drafting quarterback Caleb Williams from USC with the number one overall pick. The Chicago Bears own that selection because of the D.J. Moore trade made with the Carolina Panthers last season.
Allen last season with the Los Angeles Chargers caught 108 passes for 1,243 yards receiving, and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 11.5 yards per reception. Keenan Allen is 31 years old and has been playing for the Chargers since the 2013 season.
Green Bay Packers Rival Chicago Bears Fans Respond on Twitter to Acquiring Wide Receiver Keenan Allen From the Los Angeles Chargers and What it Means For the Rest of the NFC North
There was a lot of instant reaction when the Bears traded for Allen on the Chargers. This is what some people had to say about the move on Twitter:
D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen is probably the best 1-2 punch at receiver in the NFL

The Los Angeles Chargers own the fifth overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. It feels almost automatic that they are going to draft a wide receiver in the draft after also getting rid of wide receiver Mike Williams.
What this move means in the NFC North is that the Chicago Bears are trying to get out of the basement in the division next season. Chicago is also going to be a better football team on offense next season. The Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions will still be the top two teams in the division next season.
It feels like the Minnesota Vikings will be the team that will finish last in the division next season. If Chicago continues to make big splashes this offseason and they still can’t beat the Green Bay Packers next season, then Green Bay just owns them and they and the Detroit Lions are also closer to appearing in a Super Bowl than the Bears are.
