News broke late last night that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had spoken to the New York Jets. Reportedly, he is open to the idea of playing in New York in 2023. “While nothing is imminent,” it is clear that Rodgers’ time in Green Bay will soon be coming to an end. While there are many fans who, along with the Packers’ front office (allegedly), are ready to move onto Jordan Love, there is one current Packers player who hopes the rumors are not true: Aaron Jones.

During a Tuesday morning appearance on The NFL Network, Jones stated, “[Aaron Rodgers] is my quarterback, so I hope that he is back [in Green Bay].” Jones also made it a point to say that he was “especially” against Rodgers joining former Packers wide receiver Davante Adams with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Of the Jets rumors, Jones said: ” “I definitely keep seeing that everywhere the Jets want him, but as of right now, he’s in Green Bay if he comes back and plays,” Jones said. “I don’t want him going anywhere. You guys can have one of those veteran quarterbacks. Jimmy G, he’s a winner and they can win with him. I like Jimmy G.”
Jones did say, however, that if Rodgers is traded, he did state that Jordan Love is “more than capable” and is “ready for his shot.”
