The Green Bay Packers may be just one or two moves away on the offensive side of the ball from getting to “championship caliber.” Two positions that will certainly be addressed is running back and offensive line. It is very likely that one of Aaron Jones or AJ Dillon won’t be back in Green Bay next season.
David Bakhtiari, who still may return in 2024, will need a long-term replacement in the near future. However, chances of signing one free agent running back is drastically plummeting.

How Will The Packers Address The Running Back Position This Off-Season?
The 2024 NFL Draft is the most likely spot that Green Bay will address the running back position, however, it can’t be forgotten that Green Bay was in serious talks in trading for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. While AJ Dillon is likely on his way out, Aaron Jones is a different story.
In the event that Aaron Jones and the Green Bay Packers cannot reach an agreement on a restructured contract, Jones may be released. Before the 2024 season, the Packers hope Jones will take a pay cut. In an attempt to adjust Jones’ contract, Green Bay met with his agent. Currently, both parties are in negotiations to make sure Jones continues to receive fair compensation while he is with the Packers.
Five consecutive 100-yard rushing performances was highlighted by Jones’ 118 yards and three touchdowns in the playoffs against the Cowboys. In Green Bay, Jones has an optimistic future, but money is a concern. It may be impossible to replace the chemistry he has in Green Bay.
Either way, getting a running back to pair with Jones for the 2024 season while also thinking long-term at the position will be crucial this off-season.
