The Green Bay Packers got very good news on their top two running backs heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7). On Friday at practice, Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon were both practicing. Jones has been dealing with a knee injury and Dillon suffered a broken thumb on Monday night football against the New York Giants.
Aaron Jones has not played since 11/19 against the Los Angeles Chargers and he has missed the last two games for the Green Bay Packers. AJ Dillon has not missed a game yet this season for Green Bay and it appears as if he will try to play through the broken thumb injury.
With those two being at practice on Friday, it is very possible that Patrick Taylor will have to wait another day to make his first-ever start in the backfield. Taylor should be the third running back on the depth chart this weekend because Dillon and Jones both practiced on Friday, but you never know what can happen between now and then.
Green Bay Packers Fans Can Exhale that They Get Both Running Backs Possibly Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Green Bay fans were kind of worried that they were going to have to see Taylor take the bulk of the carries this weekend instead of Jones and Dillon. With both of them possibly playing on Sunday, they will not have to worry about that part, unless one of the two gets injured during the game.
Aaron Jones has missed several games this season. He has rushed for 245 yards this season. AJ Dillon leads the team in rushing with 574 yards and Patrick Taylor has rushed for 101 yards this season for the Green Bay Packers.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a top-10 rushing defense in the NFL this season at giving up 98.8 yards per game on the ground. It will be difficult to run on them no matter who is the starting running back for the Green Bay Packers this weekend for them.
