The Green Bay Packers will own the 25th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and one of the biggest needs they will have this offseason is offensive tackle. Green Bay is expected to release David Bakhtiari at some point this offseason. There will be plenty of quality starting tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft.

This will be one of the biggest tests to get the left tackle right for quarterback Jordan Love. They will need to find their starting blindside man for him for the next decade. Who are some of the offensive tackle prospects that the Packers could draft when they are picking at 25 in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Jordan Morgan From Arizona Feels Like the Selection For the Green Bay Packers With the 25th Overall Pick in the 2024 NFL Draft

It is very possible that five offensive tackles are already off the board by the time the Packers are drafting 25th overall. In this spot, Jordan Morgan from Arizona would be the next best tackle available. He started at Arizona on the left side for a couple of years for the Wildcats.

He is 6’4″ and weighs 312 lbs. Jordan Morgan would be a starting tackle in the NFL from day one. According to nfldraftbuzz.com, some of his strengths are as follows:

“Explosive, high-energy athlete at the snap, moving and recalibrating with ease. Displays rare change of direction and corrective foot speed for leverage recovery.”

Some of his weaknesses are also as follows according to nfldraftbuzz.com”

“Lacks elite arm length, affecting power and margin for error. Tendency to drift upright in zone run blocks, reducing power effectiveness.”

    Troy Fautanu, Washington

The Washington Huskies had one of the best offenses in college football last season. Washington made it to the college football playoffs and defeated the Texas Longhorns in the semifinals before losing to the Michigan Wolverines in the championship game.

Troy Fautanu is 6’4″ and weighs 317 lbs. One of the players he is being compared to is Alijah Vera-Tucker on the New York Jets. The Green Bay Packers would like that very much. Some of Fautanu’s strengths are as follows, according to nfldraftbuzz.com:

“Blends athleticism, power, and length, making him a formidable force on the offensive line. Exhibits excellent mobility, effortlessly executing pulls and climbs with his burst and precision.

Some of his weaknesses according to nfldraftbuzz.com are as follows:

“Sometimes displays a rushed approach in pass protection, leading to balance issues and vulnerability to strategic rushers. Inconsistent positioning can lead to quick losses against rushers with complex, deceptive moves.”

    Tyler Guton, Oklahoma

Guton is more of an offensive tackle who may go in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft rather than the first round. Tyler Guton is 6’7″ and weighs 328 lbs. Some of his strengths according to nfldraftbuzz.com are as follows:

“Exceptional frame and build, standing at 6’7″ and 328 pounds, ideal for the physical demands of an NFL offensive tackle. Displays superior athleticism for his size, with nimble footwork that allows for effective engagement and maneuverability against defenders.”

Some of his weaknesses according to nfldraftbuzz.com are as follows:

“While his size is advantageous, his arm length and leverage may not be considered elite, potentially limiting maximum effectiveness against top-tier defenders. Occasional lapses in hand placement and grip strength, highlighting areas for improvement in sustaining blocks and controlling engagements.”

Guton could be a good choice for the Packers in the second round if they don’t go with an offensive tackle in the first round. They will have a ton of left tackles to choose from in the 2024 NFL Draft to replace David Bakhtiari for the long haul to protect quarterback Jordan Love.
