Green Bay Packers: Colin Cowherd Predicts Them To Win NFC North in 2024

The Green Bay Packers may not have won the NFC North title for the last two seasons, but Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd thinks those fortunes for Green Bay might finally change in the 2024 season. Last week, he was making his way too early predictions for the 2024 NFL regular season and Cowherd thinks that the Green Bay Packers are going to win the NFC North.

One of the reasons why Cowherd predicted that the Green Bay Packers will win the NFC North in 2024 are as follows:

“I love the Packers’ young offensive personnel. They’re kids, and they went into Dallas and hammered the Cowboys [in the playoffs]. I thought Matt LaFleur did his best job as a head coach.”

Green Bay finished with a 9-8 record last season and was the seventh seed in the NFC. They hammered the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round 48-32 before losing in the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers on the road 24-21.

One of the reasons why Green Bay will make a massive jump next season is quarterback Jordan Love. He completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

Aaron Jones hopes to be back with the Packers next season as the primary running back and he will be entering the final year of his contract. Jones rushed for 656 yards on 142 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 4.6 yards per carry.

Jayden Reed was the leading receiver a season ago for Green Bay with 64 receptions for 793 yards and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 12.4 yards per reception. Reed was targeted 94 times by quarterback Jordan Love.

This has not been the first time that Cowherd has praised Love and the Packers in the calendar year. He praised them when they beat the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs and when they played the San Francisco 49ers tough.

Green Bay has talent across the board on the offensive side of the football in the immediate future. The Packers have four legitimate wide receivers for Love and they are Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs. Dontayvion Wicks, and Christian Watson.

They also have Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft at tight end and they both were rookies last season and will only get better with time. The Green Bay Packers haven’t won the NFC North title since the 2021-2022 season. The Detroit Lions won the NFC North title last season with a 12-5 record and the Minnesota Vikings won it the season before with a 13-4 record.

Green Bay will need to address the offensive line and defensive personnel this offseason either through NFL free agency or in the 2024 NFL Draft. Head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst will need to be in lockstep throughout the NFL offseason to prepare for another division title and Super Bowl run next season.
