In a recent exclusive interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Wisconsin football target Zachary Washington opened up about his speed.
Washington, a three-star receiver in the 2026 class, has been a heavily recruited target of the Wisconsin football staff. The athlete currently holds 13 major offers, but feel the biggest offers are yet to come as he continues to prove himself on the field. The Wisconsin football staff continues to show plenty of interest as Washington plans on attending Bucky’s BBQ tomorrow in Madison.
Wisconsin Football Target Zachary Washington Details What Sets Himself Apart From Other Receivers

Three-star wide receiver and Illinois native Zachary Washington has been known on the field for his burning speed, but the receiver also possesses plenty of other skills. Washington currently holds 13 major scholarship offers, with offers from Illinois, Indiana, Ole Miss, and Minnesota to name a few. The receiver stated that thus far the process has been “…really exciting and fun and great to build new relationships with new coaches especially.”
One of the first programs to extend a scholarship to Washington was the Wisconsin football program. Washington stated in reference to the offer, “I feel that Wisconsin was the most impactful because it was my first Big Ten offer and they show me a lot of interest.”
Washington also noted that both of his parents are from Wisconsin, which has also contributed to his interest in the program.

Washington was open about the level of interest that he had received from the Wisconsin football staff. The receiver stated the team was “very interested” and also that he shared a similar level of interest in the program. Washington received a scholarship offer from the Wisconsin football staff this past April, which marked his first Big Ten Conference offer as well as his first Power Four scholarship offer.
For the Wisconsin Badgers Football Target, the Surface Has Yet to Be Reached
In the eyes of both the Wisconsin football staff and Washington, the surface has yet to be reached for the recruit. When asked about what has set him apart from other receivers, Washington stated, “my speed, my ability to take the top off, and my awareness set me apart.”
Washington is a blazing receiver, but perhaps the most fascinating aspect of his speed is his ability to hit top speed immediately. The receiver does not need to warm-up, and he can reach maximum speed in the blink of an eye.
With all the strengths that Washington has, he still feels as though there is plenty left to work on to improve himself as an all-around receiver. Washington stated, “I feel there is much more room to improve on my routes.” With the potential of improving his routes, Washington could become a lethal receiver on the field in the near future.
