The Green Bay Packers are now expected to be without a starting cornerback against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5. The Packers were hoping to get a pair of crucial secondary members back in time for the Monday Night Football contest.
The Packers had good news on Jaire Alexander before the game. The star cornerback has been battling back issues since the Packers Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Alexander is expected to play against the Raiders and could line up against his former teammate, Davante Adams.
Cornerback Eric Stokes rejoined the Packers at practice last week after he was placed on the PUP list to start the season as he recovered from foot and knee injuries from last season. On Saturday’s injury report, Stokes was listed as questionable to play the Raiders. There was hope the Packers could get Stokes back alongside Alexander for Monday night.
Green Bay Packers not expected to have Eric Stokes in Week 5
However, it looks like the Packers will wait to bring Stokes back. According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Stokes is expected to miss Monday night’s contest.
Meanwhile on the other side of the ball for the #Packers, CB Jaire Alexander should be a go while Eric Stokes is likely to miss one more game. Both were listed as questionable. https://t.co/rGXtsYwmYc

Defensive coordinator Joe Barry said it was a champagne problem not having Stokes available in the early season. Barry will have to hope he doesn’t eat those words after they play a hungry Raiders team on Monday night.
