The Green Bay Packers saw one of their much-needed starters return to the practice field Thursday after being listed as a DNP on Wednesday. The Packers are preparing to play against the 2-12 Carolina Panthers on Christmas Eve.
The 6-8 Packers should view this game as a gimmie. This is the easiest win remaining on the Packers’ schedule, and they must have it in order to keep pace in the NFC wild card race. However, the Packers are facing injury adversity this week.
The Packers had five non-participants at Wednesday’s practice, including three players on the offensive side of the ball. Wide receivers Jayden Reed and Christian Watson continue to miss practice. Fortunately, the Packers had a key offensive lineman return Thursday.
The Green Bay Packers get an offensive lineman back Thursday
According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, Elgton Jenkins returned to practice Thursday. He’s dealing with a shoulder injury. The Packers need him to play against a fierce Panthers defensive line this week.
Luke Musgrave, who lacerated his kidney in Week 11, has been designated to return. He’s not practicing, but his progression to play has started.
Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, De’Vondre Campbell and Darnell Savage not practicing. Elgton Jenkins returned after missing yesterday.

That’s good news for the offense, which needs to see improvement up front as the team looks to make a playoff push. The Packers need their offensive line to create holes in the run game.
The Packers still have four key starters not practicing, including De’Vondre Campbell and Darnell Savage on the defensive side of the ball. We’ll see if the Packers can make progress on the injury front before Friday’s final Week 16 injury report.
