The New Orleans Saints confirmed Derek Carr’s injury Monday afternoon. The starting quarterback was injured during the Saints’ loss to the Green Bay Packers when linebacker Rashan Gary hit Carr.
Carr had to leave the game and was ruled out in the second half. Carr’s injury had a direct impact on the outcome of the game.
The Saints were leading 17-0 before Carr had to leave the game. The Packers came back to win the game 18-17, with backup Jameis Winston unable to lead the offense on a scoring drive.
After the game, it was reported the Saints believed Carr suffered an AC sprain. That was good news at the time because the Saints thought the injury was worse when it immediately happened.

The Saints need Carr to be available in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints were ineffective without Carr behind center against the Packers.
