Chicago Bears’ starting linebacker Roquan Smith is at the center of some pretty heavy accusations. These started to surface over the last 24-48 hours or so. A woman reportedly made a TikTok (social media app) insinuating that Roquan Smith sexually assaulted her while he was attending school at Georgia. The TikTok has already been deleted as well as her account it seems. Meanwhile Roquan Smith has deactivated his Twitter and limited comments on his Instagram account.

This girl accusing Roquan Smith is currently 18 years old and he is 25. She claims this happened when she was 15. She would have been a freshman in high school and he would be 22 years old and a rookie in the NFL.
I don’t think we need to completely discredit this girl. If this is true, she deserves help and this would be a terrible act by Smith. But, if you flip the script and this is completely made up, this would be a terrible act on her part. We have seen multiple sad examples of both scenarios, unfortunately… With that being said, taking the wait-and-see approach to this one is what we all need to do in this situation.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported contract talks are expected to “heat up some time this summer” between the team and Smith with other Bears players who are approaching free agency under the impression the linebacker is “the priority” for new general manager Ryan Poles. We will see if these accusations surface to the point where Smith’s contract talks are impacted.
