Fans of both the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers have been going back and forth all off-season. Leading up to the first game of the 2023 season, both teams face each other in Week 1 this Sunday in Chicago. The Green Bay Packers have a new quarterback under center in Jordan Love after the departure of Aaron Rodgers last season.
Love saw little game experience in his first three seasons under Rodgers. But, the spotlight is now on the third-year signal caller to lead Green Bay this year. However, Justin Fields is entering his fifth season with the Chicago Bears and has yet to get a win against the Packers.

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is 0-4 coming into 2023 against the Green Bay Packers. He has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns. Fields has thrown only three touchdowns while doubling that amount with six picks so far in his career when playing the Packers. It is safe to say that Green Bay has had Fields’ figured out since he entered the NFL.
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers held a 25-4 record in his tenure with the Packers. Now Chicago fans believe that they can turn it around without Rodgers under center.
Packers Offense
The Packers are the youngest team in the league entering 2023. Jordan Love has returning starters on offense, including running back Aaron Jones, and AJ Dillon. Also, at wide receiver with Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Samori Toure. In fact, Doubs and Watson missed practice on Wednesday due to hamstring injuries. It is questionable as to whether or not they will be available for Week 1 in Chicago.
If that is the case, Love would have two young rookies to throw to in Malik Heath, and Jayden Reed. DonTayvion Wicks was limited in practice on Wednesday as well. The two second-year wideouts are needed and will be key pieces in the Green Bay Packers offensive production against the Bears.
Bears Offense
The Chicago Bears have added a former wide receiver from the Carolina Panthers, D.J. Moore. Fans believe that he can help with the offense in the passing game. They also have Chase Claypool, who can go up and get the ball in deep pass situations.
Quarterback Justin Fields has an opportunity to get his first win at home against Green Bay, but if the opposing team plays solid on defense, and is able to shut down Fields, the Chicago quarterback may have another loss on his record against his rival.
The Week 1 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears will take place at Soldier Field on September 10th!
