The Chicago Bears have agreed to a deal with a former Wisconsin linebacker
The 2023 NFL free agency period is officially here as teams and players can discuss deals before officially signing them on Wednesday afternoon. It should be a very exciting next few weeks and one former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker is already on his way to a Packers’ rival.
The Chicago Bears have been connected to former Badgers linebacker T.J. Edwards here in free agency by beat writer Brad Biggs. The Chicago Tribune reporter tweeted out on Monday that he’s a player to keep an eye on for Bears fans.
And that came true just two hours later.
Per Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears have agreed to a three-year deal with Edwards:

The 26-year-old linebacker has spent the past four years with the Philadelphia Eagles and has played in 61 games, making 47 starts in that time.
Chicago did have a need at linebacker going into this year with former Wisconsin linebacker Jack Sanborn being the lone return starter from a year ago at the position. Edwards will now reunite with Sanborn as the Bears have a Badgers linebacker corp.
