It probably took a little longer than he expected, but with four three-pointers made in last night’s 119-106 over the Los Angeles Clippers, Brook Lopez passed the 100-mark in threes made this season. That gave him a part of an NBA record.
Brook Lopez broke out of his three-point shooting slump
Lopez had been in a mini slump over the past 10 games with regards to his three-point shooting. In his 10 games prior to last night’s contest in L.A., Brook was eight-for-41 (.195 percentage) on threes. Last night he made four-of-six threes on his way to 22 points. He added three blocked shots to his stat line.
Lopez joined Rasheed Wallace as the only players in NBA history to have four seasons in their careers with 100 three-pointers made and 100 blocked shots in the same season. Lopez first accomplished this feat in 2016-17 with the Brooklyn Nets when he had 134 three-pointers made and 124 blocked shots.
Four seasons with 100 three-pointers made and 100 blocked shots
In 2018-19 he added another 100 threes/100 blocked shots season with Milwaukee (187 threes made and 179 blocks) and added another 100/100 season the following year (102 threes and 163 blocks). Through games of February 10 this season, Brook has 101 three-pointers made and he leads the league with 135 blocked shots.
There have been 17 different players who had 100 three-pointers made and 100 blocked shots in the same season. Here are the 17 and the number of seasons each player achieved this milestone.
