Phil Longo Heavily Criticized By Wisconsin Badgers Fans After Scoring Just 6 Points In Loss To Iowa

Wisconsin Badgers fans were upset with first-year offensive coordinator Phil Longo after a dreadful performance against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Badgers offense scored just six points in the 15-6 loss to Iowa.

The game was a frustrating one for Badgers fans to watch. The game was within reach for Wisconsin for most of the game, but the offense could not move the ball against a tough Iowa defense.

Tanner Mordecai’s injury didn’t help matters, as backup quarterback Braedyn Locke was inefficient on Saturday. Locke finished 15/30 passing for 122 yards and one interception against the Hawkeyes’ defense.

Many fans felt the Badgers should have stuck to the ground game. The Badgers attempted 50 passes to 28 running plays. Braelon Allen had 87 yards rushing on 18 carries. The team as a whole averaged 3.7 yards per rush.

But most fans were frustrated with Longo’s overall play design on Saturday. Here are the best takes of Wisconsin fans criticizing Longo.

Does Phil Longo think the endzones are on the sidelines? Badgers are in love with 6 yard passes that require a 25 yard throw across the field when we need 8.

I thought Phil Longo was supposed to be an offensive genius. What is this? Do they not design routes that go more than two yards? This is pathetic

    — Swagula420 (@LordFrakula) October 14, 2023

You throw the football 50 times with one of the best running backs in America averaging five yards a carry for you and you deserve what you get. Phil Longo is a war criminal https://t.co/Vd7MxWjwZO

All off-season, we were sold a bill of goods with all the stupid commitment videos and how the offense was gonna be so explosive.

6 points. Phil Longo is a fraud

    — Dylan Pease (@dpease23) October 14, 2023

Anyone close to Phil Longo wanna text him quick? We’re already getting away from the run.

    — Jacob Bxst (@jake_bast30) October 14, 2023

There is no way around the truth.

Phil Longo was out coached by Brian Ferentz.

    Embarrassing.

    — ℝ𝕪𝕒𝕟 𝔼𝕚𝕝𝕖𝕣𝕤 (@ryanbeilers) October 15, 2023

Whatever Phil Longo is trying to do, it isn’t working.

    — Ben Kenney (@benzkenney) October 14, 2023

Phil Longo has been such a disappointment https://t.co/FyOMWjq78z

    — Jake Lund (@Jake_Lund) October 14, 2023

Phil Longo is about as unimpressive as it gets at this point. They look no better then week 1. Patience is wearing very thin at this point.

Longo does not fit the Big Ten. Who hired this guy? We need real Wisconsin football and that certainly is not Phil Longo. Fickell can go too. What a mismatch, to say the least.

Why not give the QB from Franklin a chance as a starter, he won a high school Division 1 championship. All these transfers are not very good!
