Breaking: Packers Trade for P Corey Bojorquez

In a somewhat surprising move, the Green Bay Packers have made a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. In the deal, the Packers have acquired punter Corey Bojorquez. This means that the JK Scott era in Green Bay has come to an end.

New #Packers P Corey Bojorquez was the third-highest rated punter at @pff during the preseason. 7 punts, averaged 51.9 net and gross. NFL-best 4.81 average hangtime. 4/7 inside the 20. Had a 70-yard punt.

As seen above, Bojorquez was one of the best punters in the NFL during this preseason.

    JK Scott in Green Bay

JK Scott was a controversial draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2018. Despite punter being a position that most teams avoid drafting, the Packers selected Scott in the fifth round. Even though he has one of the strongest legs in the NFL, he was not very consistent and struggled to get enough hang time on his punts. This played a part in the woeful special teams performance over the past few seasons.

    The Deal for Corey Bojorquez

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers are sending a sixth round pick to the Rams in exchange for Bojorquez. In addition to the new punter, the Packers are also receiving a seventh round pick. The draft picks are for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Trade: Rams sent P Corey Bojorquez and a 2023 7th-round pick to the Packers in exchange for a 6th-round pick in 2023, per source.
