The Packers starting wide receiver situation isn’t good in Week 8
The Green Bay Packers knew there would be several critical injuries before their Week 8 game. The Packers lost a couple of starters due to injury in last week’s loss to the Washington Commanders. Linebacker Rashan Gary left with a concussion. Wide receiver Allen Lazard went down with an injury that put him in a sling this week. The Week 8 injury report included several Packers starting members.
The Packers revealed on Friday afternoon the updated game status of those players listed in the injury report. There’s really only more clarity for Lazard’s status. According to the statement by the Packers, he will not play against the Buffalo Bills. Cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles has been ruled out as well.
Four starters are questionable
Four Packers starters are listed as questionable for the game.
- WR Christian Watson
- LT David Bakhtiari
- OL Elgton Jenkins
- LB Rashan Gary
The Packers were hopeful earlier this week that Watson could play against the Bills. He was seen practicing on Wednesday. However, he has been limited in practice all this week. Gary was a full participant Friday, and head coach Matt LaFleur hinted he would likely play Sunday. Jenkins and Bakhtiari seem to be a game-time decision each week.
The Packers will need some of these guys to be able to play if they hope to beat the 5-1 Bills. The Packers can’t afford to drop to 3-5 after Sunday night.
