We all know about Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, but did you know of their younger brother Alex? Well, according to a report, he has just joined his two brothers on the Bucks roster, at least heading into training camp.
What does this mean?:
Some have argued that this is desperation, others will say this is a nothing burger. My initial reaction before any critical thought set in, was that this is purely just a wholesome move to add a third brother to the team.
After thinking it over, I am going to stick with that take.
Calling this desperation is based on very loose evidence, and I am starting to think that the New York Times interview Giannis took last week, is very much being overblown by the media and internet armchair managers for content.
oh it’s getting desperate up in Miluwakee

Note that this isn’t me reading a single tweet and taking that as consensus, most of the replies to this news are the same exact sentiment.
It’s also worth noting that this is a G league deal, so Alex is only on the NBA roster for training camp. After that, he will likely be relegated to the G league roster.
Reading into this as a power play to keep Giannis, comes off to me at least, as a huge reach in logic. Giannis said if they can’t win another ring, he’d leave the Bucks.
So why would this signing play into that equation, unless you believe this signing makes their title chances greater? Furthermore, the Bucks have still yet to lose a playoff series with; Giannis Middleton, and Holiday all fully healthy, as we often point out here at Wisconsin Sports Heroics.
I guess to wrap up my point, just relax with the rumors everybody! The Bucks have a ring to chase in 2024.
