Free-agent guard Luca Vildoza is expected to finalize a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. This deal is expected to take him through the 2022-23 season, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski. Vildoza has fully recovered from foot surgery and will be activated for the Bucks in the playoffs.
The Knicks signed Vildoza out of the EuroLeague a little over a year ago. However a foot injury and several months of recovery ahead of him resulted in the Knicks releasing him prior to the 2021-22 season. Vildoza has also been a member of Argentina’s national team. Former Bucks player Carlos Delfino also was a member of the Argentinian national team.

The Luca Vildoza signing is a huge deal for the Knicks. The 25-year-old Argentinian PG has been one of the most coveted guards in Europe for some time. Excellent pull-up game, creative PnR passer, feisty defender. Brings the Argentinian spirit to the floor. Huge fan of his game. pic.twitter.com/fRixQ9yv9N

What does Luca bring to Milwaukee?
Luca Vildoza brings immediate depth to the Milwaukee Bucks’ back court. Jrue Holiday is the bonafide starter (and All-Start Snub), but Luca has shown consistent shooting ability and great defense. This kid has real talent. He was dominating the Spanish League just last year. Knicks fans were STOKED about his signing before the season. It will be interesting to see what he brings to the Bucks offense. Milwaukee, of course, has already clinched a playoff berth. It is hard to imagine that Vildoza will see many minutes in the playoffs. Most teams, including the Bucks, stick to eight or nine man rotations with stakes so high. However, Vildoza will be an interesting player to keep an eye on next season.
