The Chicago Cubs drafted Miller in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB draft. He was claimed off of waivers by the Texas Rangers in 2021. Miller has appeared in six MLB games during his career. He has an ERA of 9.19. He has an ERA of 10.97 with the Rangers in 2022.
Brewers fans were pretty vocal about this announcement. Boxberger has been with the Brewers since the 2021 season. He has a 9-7 win-loss record and a 3.15 ERA with the Brewers.
Brewers fans react to the move
Declining Boxberger’s option was a decision that had a mixed reaction on social media. Here are some best comments after the decision was announced.
Boxberger did a great job as the workhorse in the pen the last 2 years, but clearly on the decline so it was time to move on. Smart call. https://t.co/BBMbehxdCl

Boxberger's average fastball velo dipped this year. Heading into his age 35 season, a rebound there would be unlikely.

His overall numbers were good, but Brewers look like they'd rather move on a year too early rather than a year too late, although this may be right on time https://t.co/bdm8AdrKNi
Bro we got another few months before April first you’re not supposed to put jokes out yet https://t.co/z0z0lmT0Sw
