Allen Lazard is being retained by the Green Bay Packers on a one year second round tender. This means another NFL team would have to two things to snag him. First they would have to offer Green Bay a second round pick (at least). They would also have to offer Lazard more money than what Green Bay is offering. His salary offer will be just under 4 million for 2022 per Mike Garafolo.
Official Announcement:
The #Packers are tendering restricted free agent WR Allen Lazard at the second-round level, source says. That comes with a one-year salary offer of just under $4 million.

Allen Lazard has been one of the most reliable targets in the NFL over his first 4 years in the league:

When Allen Lazard hit his stride:
21 of Lazard’s 40 total catches, and 290 of his 513 yards came over the final five games of 2022. Not to mention 5 of his 8 touchdowns as well. Allen Lazard came on extremely strong at the end of 2022 and showed that when healthy, can be a real WR2 in this league.
Oh… and don’t forget he can block too:
Why do the #Packers love Allen Lazard? Sure, his 6 catches for 146 yards and TD last Sunday was a good reason. But how many WRs can catch 6 passes for 146 yards and a TD, and also stay in to pass block Cam Jordan on another TD pass?

4 Million seems like a steal for the Packers for just one more year especially given the uncertainty of MVS. With the seemingly robust market out there for Marquez Valdes-Scantling, it seems unlikely he’ll return to Green Bay. This means the Packers have Lazard and Adams (once a contract is done) under contract for the 2022 season at the WR position. Look for Green Bay to make even more moves this off-season at this position.
