The bright lights of “Sunday Night Football” brought the best out in Greenbay. There was a lot of good to take away from the Packers’ win over the Chicago Bears.
Bears-Packers Takeaway No. 1: Aaron Jones is a STUD
The first and biggest takeaway for fans is that Packers running back Aaron Jones is a stud and certainly makes an argument to be the best running back in the NFL.
In Sunday night’s Bears-Packers game, Jones rushed for 132 yards on 15 carries and scored two total touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving.
Bears-Packers Takeaway No. 2: Packers Defense Showed Improvement
The second big takeaway is the Packers’ pass rush showed improvement from Week 1.
The Packers sacked Bears quarterback Justin Fields three times. In Week 1, the Packers only got one sack of Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.
In addition, the defense allowed 10 points and forced a turnover.
Bears-Packers Takeaway No. 3: Packers Offensive Line is Getting Better
Furthermore, the third takeaway is that Green Bay’s right guard Elgton Jenkins returned on Sunday from injury. As a result, he helped protect Aaron Rodgers and gave Aaron Jones openings to run through the defense.
Although the full compliment of offensive line pieces are not fully back yet, it was great to see Jenkins back on the field.
Closing Thoughts/Bonus Takeaway
In closing, I have a bonus takeaway that’s a personal one: Lambeau Field is certainly an amazing place to be to watch football.
Bears-Packers was my first NFL game that I saw in person, and, as a result, it took my breath away.
