The Wisconsin Badgers are at it again, with Badgers volleyball sweeping the Iowa Hawkeyes. It brings their set win streak up to 18, tied for the second most on the season. They took care of business, defeating the Hawkeyes 25-19, 25-18, 25-16.

    The Comeback Kids Strike Again

It wasn’t all roses for Badgers volleyball, especially to start the match. The Hawkeyes were able to hit .231, which marks the fourth team to hit better than .200 against the Badgers. The Hawkeyes raced out to a 17-13 lead in the first set, but the No. 1 ranked Wisconsin Badgers did what they do best. They went on a 7-0 run that would prove to be too much for the Hawkeyes to overcome.

In the second and third sets, the Hawkeyes would do their best to keep pace with the overpowering Badgers. After coming within three in the second set, they would tie the Badgers twice in the third set, but a 10-0 run to seal the deal was how the night ended, behind a Julia Orzol ace.

Junior Anna Smrek continues her impressive season, hitting .533 to lead the team and added eight kills with 15 assists. Her .426 hitting percentage on the season ranks her fourth in the Big Ten and 24th in the nation.

Carter Booth had another balanced performance, hitting .429 with four kills and seven assists. She added four block assists and one dig. She’s ranked third in the Big Ten in hitting percentage and third in blocks as well.
