Bowl season has arrived in College Football. The Wisconsin Badgers will travel to Las Vegas to play in the Las Vegas Bowl. The Badgers will take on the Arizona State Sun Devils, a member of the PAC 12. The game will be played at 9:30 PM CST.

    Early Look At Arizona State

The Sun Devils finished in a tie for second place in the PAC 12 South with UCLA. The PAC 12 South was won by Utah, who defeated Oregon Friday night and will face Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.

Arizona State’s biggest win was against UCLA on the road. They beat the Bruins 42-23. The Sun Devils are led by Jayden Daniels, a 6’3 185 pound junior quarterback. He has thrown for 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

The leading rusher is Rachaad White, a 6’2 210 pound senior. He leads the team with 1,006 yards and 15 touchdowns. The leading receiver is junior Ricky Pearsall. The 6’1 200 pound receiver has 44 catches for 515 yards and four touchdowns. White is the second leading receiver at 43 catches for 456 yards and one touchdown. Expect White to be heavily involved in this game.

    Initial Thoughts

Most Wisconsin fans are probably not thrilled to see this bowl game. At the beginning of the season, this team looked to be the clear favorite in the Big Ten West. The Badgers fell one game short. They controlled their own destiny, however a loss last week to Minnesota crushed Wisconsin’s chances at the Big Ten Championship game and a better bowl game.

Without taking a deep dive into Arizona State yet, the Badgers look to be the better team on paper. One reason is their schedule. The Badgers face two of the top five teams in the country (Michigan and Notre Dame) and hung around for 50+ minutes in both games. I think the Badgers have faces better teams and are in a better conference.

The time of the game also intrigues me. As a 9:30 PM CST kick off, it will be interesting to see how the players respond to the time zone change. Also, I don’t believe a lot of fans will stay up for much of the game either so I don’t see ratings to be really high either.

Make sure to follow Wisconsin Sports Heroics as we will take a deeper dive into this game the closer we get to kick off!
