The Wisconsin Badger football team may have been “off” this past weekend, but a few of their former Badgers were busy on Sunday. Three former Badger players scored TDs in the NFL on Sunday. Ironically, all three came in scores from the one-yard line.
Former Badgers score one-yard NFL TDs on Sunday
Dallas tight end Jake Ferguson caught a one-yard TD pass from Dak Prescott in Cowboys’ 49-29 win over the Bears.
Running back Melvin Gordon had a one-yard TD run for Denver in their 21-17 victory over Jacksonville.
Pittsburgh fullback Derek Watt caught a one-yard TD pass from receiver Chase Claypool in the Steelers’ 35-13 loss to the Eagles.
The TDs by three former Badgers was the most in one day in the NFL since January 3, 2021, when five Badgers found the end zone: Troy Fumagalli, Melvin Gordon, Jonathan Taylor (two TDs), James White and Quintez Cephus.
Five former Badgers have scored touchdowns this season. Ferguson and Gordon have each scored a pair of TDs; Jonathan Taylor, Derek Watt and Denver QB Russell Wilson have each scored one TD in 2022.
Wisconsin Badgers with the most NFL touchdowns
There have been 66 players who attended the University of Wisconsin score one or more TDs in the NFL. Leading the group is Melvin Gordon who since 2015 has tallied 69 regular season touchdowns. Second on the list is Chris Chambers, a wide receiver who played 10 years in the league from 2001-10. He had 58 TDs.

Fifteen different Wisconsin Badgers have scored a TD in the NFL post-season. James White is at the top of that list with eight NFL playoff scores. He is followed by Owen Daniels, Stu Voigt, and Russel Wilson with three each.
