For three-plus years, the Milwaukee Bucks calling card has been defense. The team’s trade for Jrue Holiday in 2020 checked a multitude of boxes. Milwaukee finally had a point guard who could defend at an elite level and shut down the opposing team’s best wing player. That all changed on Sept 27, 2023, when the Milwaukee Bucks swung the biggest trade of the decade, trading for Blazers G Damian Lillard for Jrue Holiday, Grayson Allen, and a couple of draft picks. While the trade for Lillard was massive for the franchise, there was immediately a net negative to trading for…

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones

The Green Bay Packers can finally add a win to the record column. Before Sunday’s matchup, the team had lost four straight games, including not winning in October. But Green Bay had a favorable matchup heading into Sunday’s game, as Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford missed the game with a thumb injury. Los Angeles started former Boise State product Brett Rypien. Son of former QB Mark Rypien. Rypien went 13-of-28 for 130 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. The interception was only Green Bay’s sixth takeaway this season (one of the lowest marks in the NFL.) The team’s secondary…

Love or hate him, former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer found something with Brook Lopez defensively. Lopez has never been the quickest-footed player, but what he does well is guard the rim. So far this season, new Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin is having Brook Lopez guard players more outside the paint, which has caused some issues defensively. (Via StatMuse,) the Bucks have allowed teams to shoot at a 48 percent clip this season. In the Mike Budenholzer era, teams shot from outside the paint against Milwaukee at will, but now teams are attacking Milwaukee from inside and outside.…

Milwaukee Bucks, Thanasis Antetokounmpo

Former standout college star and current player Emoni Bates came to the defense of Milwaukee Bucks F Thanasis Antetokounmpo on Friday. First off, the question itself is clickbait. There is no such thing as being the worst player in the NBA. Millions of basketball players dream of playing in the NBA, yet only 450 of those jobs exist. The problem is that compared to his brother, Stephen Curry, and Lebron James, Thanasis is low on the NBA totem pole, but compared to regular people, he’s a top-five player in the world. Why Thanasis Antetokounmpo plays a vital role for the…

What’s unfortunate about this stat for the Milwaukee Brewers is that they might remain without a World Series for a while. Craig Counsell could take a more lucrative offer elsewhere, Brandon Woodruff will likely miss the entire 2024 season due to shoulder surgery, and the team will likely trade Corbin Burnes for prospects. The Brewers have talent on the roster, but the issue every year comes down to offense. Milwaukee doesn’t have an offense that strikes fear into teams, and they have to rely on their pitching to keep them in games. Will the Milwaukee Brewers win a World Series…

The Milwaukee Bucks have dealt their fair share of growing pains so far. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are trying to figure out how they mesh together, specifically with one set that hasn’t been used consistently as much. The Milwaukee Bucks need to run more pick-and-rolls for their two-stars The addition of Damian Lillard for the Milwaukee Bucks was supposed to solve a ton of problems offensively. One of which is Giannis finally doesn’t have to be the focal point offensively, and Lillard’s presence opens up opportunities for Giannis to get easy baskets; instead, the offense has been a little…

NFL trade deadline season is never easy. Sometimes, teams have to make tough business decisions for the future of their franchise. The decision to trade former Green Bay Packers DB Rasul Douglas shocked and surprised many, including Douglas, who didn’t believe he was being dealt. Various players have spoken about the type of person and leader Douglas was. Matt LaFleur thanked him for his contributions to the franchise over the past two years. Green Bay Packers GM Brian Gutekunst wasn’t planning on trading anybody, but the package for Douglas “was too enticing to pass up.” Rasul Douglas spoke about finding…

The Green Bay Packers will likely make wholesale changes at the end of the season. The team has gotten off to a 2-5 start and hasn’t won a game since September 24 against the New Orleans Saints. Matt LaFleur isn’t on the hot seat yet, but he will likely make changes when it comes to his offensive staff at the end of the season. LaFleur has been calling playing since he became the coach in 2019. But there’s been one component missing since Nathaniel Hackett departed to become head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2022: an experienced offensive play-caller.…

The NFL trade deadline came and went on Tuesday, and once again, the Green Bay Packers did not play an active role in the festivities. Not that it should be viewed as a surprise because the Packers don’t view the trade deadline as a way to build a team. The team has always thought of deadline day as just another day. With Green Bay’s 2-5 start, there’s not a single player who would have helped this season because Green Bay has decided they will slowly build this team from the ground up (via free agency and the draft.) On Tuesday,…
