The Pittsburgh Steelers made another offseason move to try and compete in the AFC. Former Chicago Bears and current Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson is reportedly heading to Pittsburgh. After months of speculation of whether the team could move him, it seems the Steelers are willing to take a flyer on the receiver.
The #Steelers are working to finalize a trade to acquire veteran WR Allen Robinson from the #Rams and have been granted permission to give him a physical, per sources.

Allen Robinson To The Pittsburgh Steelers
Robinson was a big signing last year but was an absolute bust. He struggled with injuries and showed his age with his lack of explosiveness and separation. Many wondered whether the Rams would be able to move off of him. Apparently, the Steelers are okay with adding the veteran help at a cheap cost. He does still have to pass a physical and the compensation is unknown but sources seem to indicate the trade will happen. This is a great addition for Pittsburgh which is trying to help second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Steelers Wide Receiver Room
Diontae Johnson and George Pickens are the clear top wideouts on the roster. Robinson can now enter into a new role. He isn’t expected to take on the bulk of the passing load and he can help mentor the young receivers in the room. The Steelers are a smart organization and have often been able to get the most out of their wide receivers. Depending on the compensation, this might be a steal for the Steelers.
For those that might be disappointed that he did not end up on the Packers, I wouldn’t be too sad. Yes, Matt LaFleur has said they need to add veteran depth to the wide receiver room but I don’t think that Robinson was the answer. There are going to be others out there that will not require giving up draft capital. Also, the team could decide just to ride with the young group and have them grow with Jordan Love. The Packers will see Allen Robinson at some point this season as they have the Steelers on their schedule.
